General Description of Role and Responsibilities :
- Communicate continuously with the Client's representatives regarding Project Progress and concerns.
- Participate in planning and formulating design alternatives and solutions for construction projects; provide conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and cost estimates; coordinate the production of basic design plans and construction documents.
- Develop and administer project budgets, fiscal controls, contracts, and quality control provisions; perform project cost estimating and value engineering as appropriate.
- Oversee all aspects of daily construction project management; monitor and coordinate work by architectural, engineering, and construction departments.
- Review and interpret proposed designs, architectural drawings, and building specifications for appropriateness to function and standards; advise consultants and clients on achieving desired results.
- Ensure project operations comply with design specifications, contract requirements, and client needs.
- Manage performance and delivery criteria to meet client requirements; prepare project specifications and coordinate procurement as needed.
- Coordinate work sequencing to expedite project delivery and minimize disruption of ongoing operations.
- Inspect and identify non-compliances; accept completed projects ensuring conformance with standards, codes, and specifications.
- Represent the institution in dealings with customers, consultants, contractors, and agencies.
- Research and prepare reports on operations, equipment, policies, procedures, and issues.
- Manage a construction management team of approximately 220 personnel across disciplines.
- Liaise with the Employer, Stakeholders, and Authorities.
- Handle contractual correspondence regarding non-compliances.
- Manage the performance of the Hill team within the CMA.
- Oversee the contract closeout process in compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills :
A degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.Twenty or more years of experience working on multi-million dollar construction projects.Previous experience on large airport projects.Experience in report writing and contractual administration.On-site project experience from initial design to handover and completion.Work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.Ability to anticipate issues, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.Strong management skills for large teams and effective communication.Demonstrates determination, success-driven attitude, and desire to progress.Proficiency in Word, Excel, MS Office, or Primavera.Excellent numerical and communication skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
