Overview
The role is known internally and externally as Lead Technical Architect (LTA), Solution Architect, or Principal Technical Consultant. It is a senior role within a Temenos project team with responsibility for establishing and communicating the overall architectural and non-functional solution design. The role may start from the pre‑contract scoping phase and continue through implementation on a single large project or oversee multiple smaller projects as required. The role holder acts as the interface between the project team and the client, ensuring actions are taken to satisfy the client within the project scope on all technical aspects. They focus on complex problems, lead the technical teams in resolving issues, and demonstrate stakeholder management skills with all contacts. They will have detailed knowledge in one product area and the ability to explain other areas, with awareness of industry and market trends. A strong leadership contribution to the aligned Centre of Excellence and input on product and process improvement is expected. They act as the escalation point for multiple projects and, when required, understand client issues, challenge where applicable, and present plans to resolve. To act as the Solution Architect, the individual is expected to be seen as a thought leader within the project team and by peers within Temenos. Responsibilities
Act as an architectural leader and trusted advisor to Clients. Design viable technical solutions compatible with business solutions, agreed requirements, contractual obligations and project plans. Be commercially astute when engaging and advising a client. Act as an ambassador for Temenos product solutions throughout a customer engagement. Identify, evaluate and offer mitigation strategies for technical risks. Provide expert advice and guidance on the optimal implementation of Temenos products within the Client’s infrastructure, achieving non‑functional characteristics such as online and COB performance, high availability, disaster recovery and testing strategy. Represent Temenos within the project / program Design Authority to promote a solution based on established references and governance principles. Provide an effective link between the project team, Development Teams and the Technology Product Group for reference architecture and sizing information. Help the Project Manager prevent scope creep and ensure consistent solution design and transparency across the design process. Ensure understanding and adherence to the Temenos Implementation Methodology (TIM) and negotiate any technical or architectural divergences with the Client as needed. Review and supervise technical System Amendment Requests (SARs) and related changes (L1 Developments). Collaborate with Client, project team members and regional / local development teams to develop robust architecture aligned to customer value and business benefit. Apply leading practice in methodology and component reuse across the Temenos footprint. Coach other Technical Consultants. Provide advice on environment management and release control between pre‑live environments. Obtain Client agreement on proposed technical solutions, including end-to-end process overviews. Complete Solution Design Documents for technical areas as defined in work packages. Define technical solutions for customization and configuration of Temenos products per agreed definitions. Ensure completion of TAABS data collection during the Technical Process Analysis phase. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from a continuity perspective as required. liaise with Temenos maintenance groups to ensure product problems are understood and resolved. As the Solution Architect, be seen as a thought leader within the project team and among Temenos peers. The Lead Technical Architect is expected to specialize in at least two of the following technical areas : Technical architecture and best use of Temenos Client services tools. Configuration of Temenos products or interfaces according to definitions. Data migration and related activities. You will master tasks and technical problems on a wide range of complex issues and demonstrate proficiency in the tools, systems and procedures required to accomplish the job. Lead the installation of custom enhancements and validate technical setup, conducting testing to ensure user acceptance and global quality. Supervise, if needed, specific technical parts of the implementation plan. Perform other duties consistent with status or vocational ability as required. Travel to client sites as required. Oversee the development and implementation of integration interfaces, APIs, message queues, or other integration technologies. Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of twelve years of experience in software technical consultancy including Temenos T24 implementation experience in a banking environment. Programming in Infobasic, Java, JavaScript; experience with Application Servers (jboss, WebSphere, WebLogic); OS (Windows, Red Hat Linux, IBM AIX); understanding of RDBMS with MSSQL, DB2 and Oracle. Strong understanding of industry concepts such as Java VMs and artefacts (WAR / EAR), performance tuning, JMS; componentisation of applications; ESB for event-driven messaging and orchestration; Internet security concepts; single sign-on (LDAP / Active Directory); process / workflow approaches (jBPM exposure is an advantage); Web Services; penetration, stress and performance testing. Knowledge of Temenos products and general architecture of T24 and related interfaces; awareness of industry and market developments. Knowledge of event-driven architecture, API integration, integration and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Knowledge of agile methodologies and ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong Temenos product knowledge and willingness to master other Temenos products; ability to understand integration across platforms. Good awareness of industry and market developments and strong company knowledge. Technical knowledge : application servers, OS, RDBMS; understanding of integration concepts; product knowledge with Temenos portfolio; security concepts including SSO; approach to process orchestration.
