Role Overview
We're seeking a versatile Senior Backend Developer who thrives in early-stage startup environments and can wear multiple technical hats. You'll be responsible for implementing and building the entire backend infrastructure that powers our patient mobile app, doctor web interface, and admin management system. You will be reporting directly to our CTO and collaborating with a cross functional team. This is a key technical role where you\'ll have a significant impact on our product development while working closely with the founding team.

Key Responsibilities
Backend Development (Primary Focus)
- API Development : Design and build RESTful APIs serving our mobile app and web interfaces
- Database Architecture : Design and implement scalable database schemas for user data, medical records, consultations, and treatment plans
- Authentication & Security : Implement secure authentication systems, role-based access control, and medical data encryption
- Integration Management : Build integrations with video consultation platforms (Twilio / similar), pharmacy systems, and notification services
- Real-time Features : Develop chat systems, appointment scheduling, and real-time consultation features
DevOps & Infrastructure (Secondary Focus)
Cloud Infrastructure : Set up and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure) with focus on healthcare complianceCI / CD Pipelines : Establish automated deployment pipelines for rapid, reliable releasesMonitoring & Logging : Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systemsSecurity & Compliance : Ensure GDPR compliance and healthcare data protection standardsPerformance Optimization : Monitor and optimize system performance and scalabilityTechnical Leadership & Collaboration
Solution Implementation : Design the architecture and implement technical solutionsCode Quality : Implement coding standards, participate in review processes, and maintain technical documentationScalability Implementation : Build systems that can scale from hundreds to thousands of usersTechnical Debt Management : Balance rapid development with maintainable code

PHP / Laravel : 7+ years of PHP development with strong Laravel framework experience (Laravel 8+)Database Expertise : Strong experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL, Eloquent ORM, and database designAPI Development : Proven experience building RESTful APIs with Laravel API Resources and Sanctum authenticationCloud Platforms : Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (AWS preferred) and PHP deploymentDevOps Tools : Experience with Docker, CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), and server managementSecurity : Understanding of Laravel security features, authentication, authorization, encryption, and healthcare data protectionVersion Control : Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflowsHighly Preferred
