Operations Manager – CCGT Power Plant

Rabigh, Saudi Arabia

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the operations function for a large-scale Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power project in Rabigh. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations, with accountability for meeting production targets and driving operational excellence across the plant.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the operations department, managing plant operations and laboratory activities in line with contractual requirements, HSE standards, and production targets.
  • Oversee the development and execution of operational strategies, aligning with the overall plant strategy while ensuring integration with other functions.
  • Manage and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring performance is tracked, gaps are addressed, and improvements identified.
  • Direct daily plant operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and adherence to international safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to support outage planning, preventative and corrective maintenance, and safe execution of shutdowns / restarts.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSSE policies, procedures, and emergency protocols, leading operational safety programs and incident response.
  • Oversee laboratory functions, production parameters, and testing to ensure optimal plant chemistry and performance.
  • Manage operational contracts, inventory, and consumables to ensure cost-effective service delivery and operational readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, policy implementation, and alignment with Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
  • Mentor, coach, and develop the operations team, building a high-performing workforce.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 12–15 years of progressive experience in power generation, with a strong track record in CCGT operations and leadership roles .
  • Proven knowledge of power plant operations, with emphasis on CCGT technology, performance optimization, and reliability.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills with ability to influence and motivate large teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in plant operations, safety compliance, and handling emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with PPP frameworks, contractual obligations, and stakeholder management in large-scale projects.
