Senior Apigee Developer

What We Need

At Oivan we are hiring a Senior Apigee API Engineer to develop, operate and maintain APIs using the Google Apigee platform. The role involves designing and implementing secure API solutions, managing the API lifecycle, ensuring operational efficiency, and providing support and training to internal teams. The ideal person should have hands‑on experience with API development, security best practices, performance optimization and Apigee platform operations.

The role is based on-site in Riyadh - so we are optimising for candidates within Saudi Arabia.

What You'll Do

API Development & Lifecycle Management

• Develop, operate and maintain APIs using the Apigee API Management platform.
• Design and implement new API interfaces following industry best practices for security, performance and scalability.
• Manage the entire API lifecycle including design, development, versioning, updates and decommissioning based on business requirements.
• Ensure API security through authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Key validation and Mutual TLS.
• Optimize API performance by implementing caching, rate limiting and traffic management policies.

What You Have

Strong understanding of RESTful API design, API security best practices and microservices architecture.

Expertise in Apigee API policies including request transformation, security enforcement and traffic management.

Hands‑on experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API Key authentication and Mutual TLS.

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines, API testing and automation tools such as Postman, Terraform, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in API performance tuning and debugging.
