Repairs and maintains trucks and cars powered by diesel engines using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools : Diagnoses trouble, disassembles vehicle components, and examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
Accountabilities
- Repairs and maintains trucks and cars powered by diesel engines using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools : Diagnoses trouble, disassembles vehicle components, and examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
- Recondition and replace parts and components such as, but not limited to, brakes pads, brake shoes, bearings, oil seals, gears, valves, and bushings, engines, gear boxes, tires, differentials, …using tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts. Order replacement parts following the workshop accepted procedures.
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; Adjust controls and systems.
- Prepares and maintains vehicle records as per the performance and present to the line supervisor for the record.
- Keeps workshop equipment in the best operating condition by following operating instructions.
- Contain costs by searching and coordinating best repair alternatives with direct supervisor and colleagues.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications when required.
- Enhances fleet department and company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Complies with the highest level of safety at workshop and site to avoid any type of accidents.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Review and understand technical bulletins and manuals. Minimum of (3) years’ experience in maintenance and automotive repair. Acceptable command of English Language. Basic Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
