Job Summary :
In this role, you will provide non-routine cost engineering / planning and scheduling needs to projects. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives, and deliver training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution.
Major Responsibilities :
Level 1
- Performs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and schedule development, maintenance, reporting, and monitoring activities, as directed
- Collects or receives, as directed, drawings and other scope definition documentation that applies to assigned discipline or commodity specialty and verifies adequacy and completeness
- Performs, as directed, routine quantity takeoffs, within discipline or commodity specialty, from engineering and construction drawings
- Collects and tabulates quantity data for summary comparisons and reconciliations, or verifies quantities provided by others
- Prepares and presents cost / schedule information at meetings, as directed
- Assists in preparing cost / schedule data for proposals or contracts
- Gathers and verifies data on schedule, work force, and quantities to update and status discipline or specialty progress and performance reports
- Operates, manages, and oversees use of Active Risk Manager (ARM) or equivalent risk register software tool
- Assists the Project Risk Specialist or Project Risk Manager in the preparation of risk analysis recommendations, reports, metrics, and presentations
- Works with Risk Owners to update and satisfy project record keeping and data archival requirements in support of PERM activities
Level 2
Assists in the development and support of project trend programAssists with budget allocation and reporting / cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplinesAssists with developing and maintaining scope-specific schedules for easy integration into the total project plan following established project procedures / practicesAssists with developing discipline level work logics in support of overall project scheduleAssists with reporting progress relative to established milestones for total project or major portions of the projectEducation and Experience Requirements :
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 3-5 years of relevant experience or 5-8 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills :
Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications.Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls (including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data).Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.Bechtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
