Overview Of The Role

The Sr. ELV Engineer leads the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Extra Low Voltage systems to meet project specifications and client / operator requirements.

Coordinates extensively with consultants, main contractors and suppliers to deliver integrated ELV solutions within project timelines and budget constraints.

Manages quality, health, safety, environment and asset management while fostering professional relationships to support ELV system integration.

What You Will Do Design and Planning

Review and understand Project specifications, IFC Drawings, and ELV system requirements.

Prepare detailed ELV system design drawings, schematics and layouts for CCTV, Access control, BMS, Fire Alarm, Public Address, SMATV / IPTV, PABX, Data & Wi‑Fi, Structured Cabling, GRMS, and Parking Management.

Ensure designs comply with international standards (NFPA, BS, IEC, TIA / EIA, etc.) and local regulations.

Coordination and Collaboration

Establish relationships with Clients, Consultants, Vendors, Suppliers and other professionals.

Participate in design coordination meetings with MEP and Architectural teams.

Prepare Material submittals, Technical Data sheets and Shop drawings for Consultant / Operator review and approval.

Installation and Supervision

Supervise installation, termination, testing and commissioning of all ELV systems on site, ensuring procedures follow approved shop drawings and manufacturer recommendations.

Monitor Subcontractor performance to ensure safe, efficient and quality work.

Verify cable routes, conduit layouts and system integration points.

Testing and Troubleshooting

Conduct system testing, programming and commissioning with suppliers and manufacturers.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during integration.

Prepare final T&C reports and documentation for client handover.

Quality and Assurance

Control installation quality in accordance with the project quality assurance plan.

Implement and monitor QHSE and asset management aspects in activities.

Report all QHSE & asset management incidents and take precautions to prevent recurrence.

Operational Support

Support procurement by preparing BOQ and material take‑offs.

Maintain accurate records of drawings, material submittals, RFIs and As‑Built documents.

Assist in preparing O&M manuals, training schedules and system operation documents.

Leadership and Management

Allocate workforce to site areas based on program, works nature and required skills.

Set targets and monitor workforce productivity.

Arrange skills development and training for foremen and site workforce.

Required Skills To Be Successful

Design and review skills for ELV systems such as Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and others.

Ability to prepare system design drawings, integration plans and calculations.

Proficient understanding of international standards and compliance requirements.

Strong leadership and coordination skills to manage teams and liaise with external partners.

What Qualifies You For The Role

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical / Electronics / Communication Engineering or equivalent.

7–12 years of experience in MEP.

Proficient in soft skills such as MS Office, AutoCAD, ELV integration and protocols (TCP / IP, Modbus, BACnet, etc.).

Preferred certifications include BICSI, KNX or Manufacturer Certifications (Honeywell, Siemens, Bosch, etc.).
