Principal Geochemist Job Description
The Principal Geochemist collaborates with all technical teams to ensure excellence in exploration programs. Responsible for developing and designing methodologies and SOPs, as well as designing and implementing geochemical sampling programs to support mineral exploration and resource evaluation. Ensures ongoing team development in geochemical methodologies and interpretation, and interprets geochemical data to identify mineralization patterns, anomalies, and potential ore deposits. Collaborates with geologists to integrate geochemical data into geological models, and develops geochemical models and predictive tools to optimize exploration targeting and resource estimation. Stays updated on emerging geochemical technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices to foster continuous improvement and innovation. Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and external partners regarding geochemical findings, project progress, and regulatory compliance. Works across all Maaden exploration camps, mentoring and assisting geologists in the field. Additional Qualifications and Skills
Broad exploration experience across multiple terrains (at least 2) with significant knowledge of at least 3 commodities, and understanding of an additional 2 commodities or recognition in exploration processes. Multicontinent experience. Strong commercial skills and feasibility study experience. Ability to commercialize technical expertise. Extensive experience with applied exploration techniques. Skills and attributes include : Providing practical solutions and recognizing problem areas for improvement. Generating geological ore body models based on discoveries. Articulating a clear program vision and demonstrating good judgment. Having a discovery history and strong pattern recognition. Ability to shift focus between commodities quickly. Predicting the unknown based on familiar data and recognizing natural impossibilities. Applying historical experience to long-term planning and managing complexity. Leadership and Personal Qualities
