Global Consultant – Sports Management Consulting

Portas Consulting is the leading management consulting firm dedicated to sport. We believe in the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives, communities and nations. We are looking for an exceptional new colleague, to join our team in the Middle East at either Consultant or Senior Consultant level.

Our work is varied across our seven practice areas of Football, Investment, Federations, Events, Public Sector, Active Places and Women & Sport. Our projects within these practices are wide and varied, spanning strategy, organisation, governance and project management. Recent examples include

Creating the National Sports and Physical Activity Policy for Mauritius
Developing strategies to professionalise women’s football and rugby
Designing a post-acquisition strategy for a newly acquired UK sports team
Conducting ground-breaking research into the value of grassroots sport.

As a Consultant at Portas, you will have the opportunity to work with senior clients in a way that may not be possible at a larger firm. Managing project workstreams and complete projects of narrower scope

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Contributing to team problem-solving

Delivering complex analysis

Developing client documents and presentations

Conducting interviews, delivering presentations and facilitating workshops

Building productive day-to-day relationships with client team members

Coaching and managing Business Analysts

Supporting Portas business development and internal firm-building activities.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate with the following experience :

Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a blue-chip management consulting firm

Excellent academic record

Highly numerate, with strong quantitative and conceptual problem-solving ability

Demonstrated a clear passion for sports and physical activity

Self-directed, proactive and entrepreneurial

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to thrive in a team environment

Willing and able to work globally
