The Power BI Administrator is responsible for the comprehensive administration and enterprise-level management of the Power BI platform within the organization. This senior role requires a strategic individual to oversee platform administration and configuration, ensuring optimal settings within the Power BI Admin Portal. The incumbent will manage premium capacities, integrate Power BI with existing enterprise systems, and uphold governance and compliance standards pertinent to data analytics. A vital part of this position involves user access and workspace management, which includes creating and nurturing workspaces alongside implementing robust security measures such as role-based access control and row-level security. The Power BI Administrator will also focus on governance and compliance by enforcing data policies and maintaining a data catalog, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with established compliance frameworks. Additionally, the role entails monitoring and troubleshooting Power BI service performance, managing data gateways, and supporting the report lifecycle with best practices in automation and documentation. As a central point of contact, the Power BI Administrator will foster collaboration, provide training, and promote a data-driven culture across the organization, ensuring continuous improvement and effective use of Power BI.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a data analytics or business intelligence environment, with at least 3 years dedicated to Power BI platform administration or related roles.
• Proven experience in configuring and managing Power BI service settings, including capacity management and user access roles.
• Demonstrated ability to enforce data governance policies and maintain compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
• Strong knowledge of data security practices and proficiency in implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Extensive experience with PowerShell and REST APIs to automate administrative tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in DAX, data modeling, SQL, and a solid understanding of integrating Power BI with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
• Previous experience overseeing data source and gateway administration with a focus on ensuring secure connectivity and optimizing performance.
• Strong analytical skills for monitoring service health, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing report performance.
• Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including data engineers, analysts, developers, and business users.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for conducting training sessions and workshops on Power BI best practices.
• Mastery of documentation skills to maintain up-to-date records for configurations, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• A bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analysis, or a related field.
• Microsoft Certified : Data Analyst Associate or Power Platform certification is a plus.
