UH60 Maintenance Pilot (2nd Shift)
Job Description This position functions as the Aviation Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP). The pilot is responsible for performing Maintenance Test Flights (MTF), Maintenance Operational Checks (MOC), and conducting in-flight troubleshooting and verifications to ensure aircraft airworthiness after extensive maintenance, repair, or modifications. Typical flights include assessing aircraft power, engine health, and verifying system functions according to technical publications and requirements. The MTP conducts general or limited test flights when ground diagnostics are insufficient, performs pre-flight inspections, and safely operates the aircraft according to manuals. Responsibilities also include completing all maintenance documentation accurately, performing mathematical and performance calculations, and conducting briefings for flight crew and maintenance personnel. During the 2nd Shift, the pilot must efficiently perform all tasks adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating test flight activities, establishing maintenance flight procedures, maintaining situational awareness of platform readiness, and supporting quality control processes. The MTP also participates in daily maintenance meetings, coordinates with Base Operations and Supply Chain Management, and supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART). The role reports to the Battalion Production Control Manager and involves significant autonomy in goal setting and decision-making within broad guidelines. Additional duties may be assigned by management. Qualifications FAA A&P Certificate preferred; FAA IA certificate preferred. High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred. At least two (2) years of experience as a UH60 series aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot. Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Helicopter license and Instrument Helicopter license. Meets AR 95-20 requirements. Successfully pass the Army or FAA Class II Flight Physical annually. Qualified in the UH-60M helicopter as a USG maintenance test pilot. Proficient with technical manuals and maintenance documentation. Valid U.S. driver’s license and Passport. Military experience documented with DD214. Ability to pass employment and deployment medical, drug testing, and background checks. Leadership or supervisory experience in a military maintenance unit. Strong knowledge of military logistics procedures and regulations.
