Sr. Engineer, Instrument

Overview Provide technical support to develop and execute the plan for test and inspection of instrument safety / safeguarding equipment and systems. Maintain various instrument systems including DCS, PLC, Enraf. Assist in planning and monitoring the execution of the instrument maintenance strategy for the plant. Own Custody Transfer Measurement validation and support instrument equipment failure investigations. Custodian of the Instrumentation Master Plan.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical advice to develop, review and update validation of the custody transfer system program, and communicate validation reports to external customers to ensure compliance with custody agreements.

Provide professional engineering advice and technical expertise for SASREF business units and departments to support project development, engineering studies, SD / TA plans and activities, and I&R improvement programs.

Assist in technical support to develop, monitor implementation and revise maintenance strategies for field instrumentation, telecom, control, monitoring, and safeguarding / Fire & Gas Detection systems to ensure integrity and reliability of instrument equipment.

Assist in reviewing and identifying Bad Actors (instrument equipment), analyze problems / issues, and provide recommendations to enhance asset reliability.

Assist in developing and implementing integrity audit plans for instrument equipment to ensure asset integrity.

Provide instrument technical advice and support for shutdown / turnaround scope of work to enhance availability and integrity of plant and equipment.

Develop and execute the implementation of Testing & Inspection plans for safeguarding, Fire and Gas systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.

Develop, plan and execute change requests related to the DCS system and provide technical authority approval for design changes.

Develop and maintain the Custody Transfer Instrumentation Master Plan.

Provide instrument technical support by reviewing scope of work and monitoring execution of contracts to ensure competent contract services are acquired and executed.

Ensure business processes and work activities comply with SASREF policy, procedures and best practices to achieve objectives in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Lead, motivate, develop and assess the assigned team to achieve business objectives and grow capability.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct manager / Lead Engineer.

Qualifications & Experience

B.Sc. Degree in instrument / electronic engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience.
