As QC Chemist you will be responsible for performing QC chemical and microbiology testing, to comply with GSK and local regulatory requirements. This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career, with responsibilities including some of the following.
Key Responsibilities
Following all EHS guidelines in the analytical laboratory and the facility
Compliance with GMP, QMS and data integrity requirements, as well as regulatory expectations
Perform sampling for Microbiology, Materials and Finished Goods in compliance with GMP requirements
Perform chemical and microbiological testing for stability samples, finished products and raw materials
Prepare and execute the testing utilities and cross-contamination testing plan
Ensure tests comply with local methods and specifications as per SOPs, BARs, and RMS methods
Prepare documentation for testing, including BARs, stability protocols and reports
Prepare all required reagents for testing
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as assigned
Inventory check and ordering of chemicals and glassware as required
Complete training curricula assigned in My-Learning or QMS training on time and provide training to staff where required
Maintain data records and entries in all QC-related documents and files
Adhere to OOS procedures and document investigations as required
Provide support to PPR by supplying trend results for critical product (release) parameters, OOS investigation reports, and laboratory equipment validation status and analytical method status
Identify risks and escalate to the line manager where applicable
Follow and sustain GPS standards for all lab activities
Supervisor responsibilities include developing, implementing and monitoring chemical laboratory procedures (SOP / BAR / RMA / BPS) against regulatory, QMS, CAPs and pharmacopoeia requirements and providing training to analysts and technicians as required
Perform and supervise analytical method validation or transfer as required, cleaning validation, analytical equipment validation (IQ / OQ / PQ), calibration and maintenance with related schedules
Verify chemical lab results and submit to QC manager for final approval; execute OOS investigations when required and ensure trending of critical product parameters
Maintain data records and entries in all QC-related documents and files
Monitor lab inventory of lab wear, consumables, chemicals and reference standards
Promote a safe working and laboratory environment that complies with company EHS requirements
Identify risks and escalate to the line manager
Adhere to Safety, Quality and GPS standards and sustain relevant QA and EHS KPI metrics to achieve zero accidents, zero defects, zero waste and continuous improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with majors in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmacy
2 - 4 years of experience in a similar role
Good level of English in speaking, writing and reading
Knowledge of EHS, GMP and GLP
Computer skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Time management skills
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
