The GL Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing general ledger activities to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions. This role includes account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and support for financial closes. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective collaboration with other departments are essential for resolving issues and streamlining operations.

Responsibilities

Daily management of accounting operations including maintaining general ledgers and ensuring accurate financial records.

Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Weekly bank reconciliation preparation and resolution of reconciling items with the Chief Accountant; suggest permanent solutions to recurring issues.

Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for review.

Facilitate information provision to auditors, attorneys, and other third parties for legal, compliance and audit matters.

Collaborate with other functions to support business decision making.

Ensure timely and accurate information is provided for IKTVA.

Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls.

Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to maintain compliance with applicable standards.

Assist in periodic reconciliation of all clearing nature accounts (e.g., GR / IR, PS settlement and capitalization, employee and supplier advances, petty cash, manpower, salary payable, VAT and related accounts, and other clearing accounts).

Assist in reconciliation of intercompany balances.

Assist the Chief Accountant in applying IFRS and identifying deviations / non-compliance; propose solutions for compliance, including but not limited to leases accounting, property, plant and equipment, and intangible assets.

Participate in ERP system improvement by identifying inefficiencies and engaging support teams to resolve issues.

Assist the Chief Accountant to ensure the financial statements present all necessary GL accounts and cost centers under appropriate lines and notes.

Ensure thorough review of all general ledger accounts and maintain strong understanding of their nature and functioning.

Perform any other responsibilities as per business requirements or role relevance.

Qualifications and Education

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in financial reporting and accounting or related field.

Skills

IFRS knowledge, accounting standards (GAAP), regulatory compliance, financial analysis, presentation skills, MS Excel, SAP, and strong communication skills.
