Overview The Mechanical Inspector will ensure contractors are compliant with the contract documents, coordinate daily with other teams to document and verify quality and quantity of work performed, process incoming inspection requests and technical submittals, and perform necessary actions.
Responsibilities
Read and understand package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, and associated updates.
Ensure contractor(s) comply with contract standards and specifications through observation, measurements, and testing, tracking quality assurance progress.
Maintain records of contractor’s manpower and equipment daily resources.
Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
Document contractor’s personnel and equipment, activities observed, location, reason, and methods utilized in the assigned areas.
Report material deliveries and implement any site instructions from the leader.
Apply and implement all quality controls and procedures of the site.
Prepare site measurements and surveying checks as needed by the leader.
Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Monitor health and safety of construction works and report violations.
Qualifications
Experience in infrastructure projects required.
Minimum 7 years overall experience (minimum 5 years in KSA) in construction supervision with a consultancy.
For the inspector position, a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Specific Skills Required
Good knowledge of basic design requirements, familiarity with mechanical methodologies and installation processes, and knowledge of building codes.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Competent at writing reports – can present views clearly and concisely in good written English.
Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
