LAB TECHNOLOGIST.

Overview

The Lab Technologist performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests with low and moderate complexity in different lab units including Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, Histology and Transfusion Medicine in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures to obtain accurate and precise data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Operational Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine Laboratory tests using automated analyzers or manual techniques in Chemistry Serology and immunology
• Perform low and moderate complexity testing in general Hematology and coagulation Histology Parasitology microbiology and molecular microbiology lab units
• Perform low and moderate testing in blood bank and transfusion services unit
• Work in histology unit to perform required specimen preparation and staining
• Perform phlebotomy and other job related miscellaneous activities requested Collects blood from inpatients and outpatients by finger stick or venipuncture

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in medical technology / Clinical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory science program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required.

Professional Certifications Required

SCFHS Classification and Saudi MOH Licensed Medical Laboratory technologists / Specialist

Years of Experience

Minimum 4 years’ experience in a licensed Medical facility / Clinical laboratory as Lab Medical Technologist along with Completion of 1 year internship.

Languages

English : Basic; Arabic : Not Required
