Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of expertise in managing HSE processes within the context of building construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, compliance with HSE regulations, and the implementation of effective safety programs. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and update project-specific HSE plans for building construction projects. Collaborate with project teams to integrate HSE considerations into project schedules and workflows. Conduct thorough risk assessments for construction activities and identify potential hazards. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks to personnel and property. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and project-specific safety requirements. Implement corrective actions for identified hazards and unsafe practices. Conduct HSE training sessions for project personnel, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility on the construction site. Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols. Conduct drills and exercises to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, and analyze root causes. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of HSE activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records. Ensure compliance with documentation requirements. Stay informed about local and international HSE regulations applicable to building. Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements. Promote a positive safety culture through communication, recognition programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Encourage proactive reporting of safety concerns and suggestions for improvement. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HSE management within building construction projects. Professional certifications in HSE are highly desirable. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in construction. Excellent communication and training facilitation skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks. Proficient in using HSE software and tools.
