Conduct the maintenance (preventive, corrective and breakdown) of all automation equipment installed on equipment and yard including but not limited to QCs and RTGs in the most efficient and effective manner, making sure that jobs are done in the quickest and most cost-effective way, keeping in mind quality and safety protocols
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Be able to carry out the below duties without direct supervision.
- Be able to carry out assigned jobs safely, satisfactorily, accurately & cost effectively.
- Carry out electrical / automation maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of equipment and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by superintendent / Manager / Engineer.
- Ensure maximum operational availability automation system of all Engineering Machines / equipment’s by inspections, diagnostic work, and repair methods.
- Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults.
- Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Team Leader.
- Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure that all preventive maintenance (electrical) is conducted as defined in the system.
- Independently able to attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on immediate basis.
- Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system.
- Ensure to perform periodic checklist / calibration / adjustment of sensors and / or system.
- Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with optimization team) for all automation system / control system / electrical system / associate system that direct or indirect link with automation on equipment / yard and work performed on the equipment accordingly.
- Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity.
- Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible.
- Conduct all preventive maintenance activities meticulously and make sure all items in the checklist are complete adhering to the stipulated times.
- Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required. Submit daily activity report whenever necessary.
- Record Number and nature of accidents.
- Ensure safety principles are followed.
- Maintain constant communication with the Superintendents to ensure effective crane workshop operations.
- Responsible to maintain safety and discipline in the work area.
- Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards.
- Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policy and guideline.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Experience in automated / semi-automated container in seaport and / or heavy equipment environment Mandatory : 5 to 8 yearsEducation Preferable : B-Tech / B. E / BS in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / computer engineeringPreferable experience in working on automated / semi-automated QC and RTG in container terminal.Detailed knowledge of a wide range of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, AC / DC crane drives, industrial instrumentation, communication and network.Conversant with technical / parts manuals, and drawingsFully conversant with safety procedures
