Overview
The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and comfort of a building’s infrastructure and systems. This includes supervising or performing inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on plumbing, sewage, structural, and safety systems. The role ensures that all building systems are compliant with relevant codes and operate efficiently to support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance of plumbing, sewage, structural, and fire protection systems
- Maintain the integrity of building structure and finishes
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for major repairs and specialized services
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations
- Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and emergencies
- Recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance building performance and energy efficiency
- Support project planning for renovations or facility expansion
Qualifications
