Architectural Drafter

The

Architectural Draftsman

is responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings, plans, and layouts based on design concepts and project requirements. The role involves translating ideas, sketches, and specifications from architects and engineers into precise technical drawings used for construction and implementation. The Draftsman ensures that all drawings are accurate, clear, and compliant with design standards, project specifications, and building codes.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and develop detailed architectural drawings, layouts, sections, and elevations.

Convert conceptual designs, sketches, and specifications into precise technical drawings using

AutoCAD ,

Revit , and other drafting software.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure design accuracy and consistency.

Review and update drawings based on project revisions, site conditions, or client requirements.

Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and submission packages.

Ensure drawings comply with company standards, quality requirements, and local regulations.

Support design and construction teams with technical drawings during all project stages.

Participate in coordination meetings to resolve design or drafting issues.

Provide support in quantity take-offs and material detailing when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Architectural Draftsman in construction, interior fit-out, or design projects.

Strong proficiency in

AutoCAD ,

Revit , and other drafting / design software.

Solid understanding of architectural detailing, materials, and construction methods.

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
