Overview
We are seeking a Geomatics/Geographic Information Systems Analyst to join our Geospatial and System Support Division (G&SSD) within Land Affairs Department.
The Geospatial and System Support Division (G&SSD) delivers integrated geospatial services that turn spatial data into actionable intelligence for land-management, land-use approvals, conflict identification and decision support, enabling the Company's exploration, development and production of hydrocarbon resources across the Kingdom. By managing authoritative spatial data, producing analytical outputs, maintaining robust geospatial systems and portals, and integrating emerging digital technologies, G&SSD drives operational efficiency, transparency and data-driven decision-making for all land-related activities, ensuring safe, sustainable and cost-effective hydrocarbon operations.
Your primary role focuses on delivering advanced geospatial analysis and digital solutions that support the Department operations while championing AI, machine-learning, and deep-learning integration; you will bridge geospatial data with land-governance requirements to accelerate cycle times, improve data quality, automate workflows, and generate actionable insights, leading cross-functional teams to design, build, and continuously evolve geospatial platforms and analytics that enhance operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities
As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:
Minimum Requirements
• As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science preferable in geospatial data, or a related discipline from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
• You will have 5-8 years of experience in geospatial analysis and spatial data management with ESRI ArcGIS Ecosystem. Experience in geospatial AI (including Machine Learning or Deep Learning) with ESRI workflows is an advantage.
• You will have demonstrated experience in delivering enterprise-scale geospatial analyses supporting land governance, regulatory assessment, or infrastructure planning.
• Possess expert knowledge of coordinate reference systems, including their reprojections and conversions, with a focus on understanding the implications of accuracy and performance impact on large-scale geospatial data analytics.
• You must have strong experience with geospatial databases, spatial analysis, and digital mapping platforms particularly using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and ArcPro) and Online or Enterprise platforms.
• Proficient in programming languages or scripting, notably Python and Arcade; familiarity with version control systems like Git (A version-control system that records every change made to a set of files usually source-code over time)
• You will be able to demonstrate applied experience in artificial intelligence, automation, or advanced analytics within a geospatial or data-driven environment.
• Experience in digital transformation initiatives related to geospatial systems, analytics platforms, or data modernization is required.
• You will have the ability to translate complex geospatial and analytical outputs into clear insights that support informed decision making.
• Experience working in multi-stakeholder environments with complex land, regulatory, and operational requirements is preferred.
• Background in the Energy sector, particularly in Oil & Gas, Renewables, or Utilities is an advantage
• Demonstrated experience in authoring technical papers, white papers, or research publications related to geospatial analytics, digital systems, or advanced technologies.
• Experience contributing to innovation initiatives, including invention disclosures, intellectual property development, or patent submissions.
