NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is on a mission to make a carbon‑free, climate‑safe future a reality. We are building the world’s largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost‑efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4 GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go online in 2026. JOB DETAILS :
Division : GH2 Operations.
REPORTS TO : Operations Director.
LIAISE / COOPERATE WITH : Air Products, External EPCs, Suppliers, NGHC Operation Directors, Operations and Maintenance Staff.
POSITION SUMMARY :
This position will be part of NGHC (Neom Green Hydrogen Company) Operations.
Will be based in Neom Region, KSA and will work on Electrical systems design review, supporting the testing, commissioning and start‑up of equipment / plants and providing technical support to the operation team during the entire lifecycle of the equipment to guarantee reliable and safe operations.
NATURE & SCOPE :
- The candidate will participate actively in the design review, the Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning, and start‑up of the electrical equipment for the largest H2 production site in the world, which will incorporate H2, ammonia and ASU production units.
- Will contribute to develop the preventive maintenance plans and the necessary procedures and policies for the correct use and maintainability of all the electrical equipment.
- This position will report to NGHC Operations Director.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Participate actively in department / plant safety programs. Promote safety rules and regulations as well as environmental compliance.Ensure all designs and systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.Develop and implement procedures and processes for the proper preservation and maintenance of all electrical equipment on the site.Provide shutdown / turnaround scope of work for the electrical systems / equipment to ensure and enhance availability and integrity of plant and equipment.Support / lead investigations that relate to electrical equipment, including the development and implementation of follow up actions.Provide technical support to the operation team during the entire lifecycle of the electrical equipment, analyzing their performances and operative conditions to guarantee reliable and safe operations.Ensure integrity and reliability of electrical equipment in the site.Monitor equipment health and performance.Conduct engineering study & risk‑based analysis and make recommendations to improve equipment performance and efficiency.Assist in the development of preventative / predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures & performance.Responsible for providing engineering support for spares, repairs, upgrades, and field service of all types of electrical equipment.Development and deploy standard best practices.Provide hands on and supervision support as required to resolve electrical equipment field problems as they occur.Participate in plants commissioning and start‑up.Provide technical clarification and approval with vendor for requisition as needed.Provide technical training to engineers, operation and maintenance personnel.Work on engineering detail of the electrical equipment, including technical specification.On‑call support during plant emergency shutdowns, analyzing / troubleshooting trips on any plant equipment.Develop SOW for any external repairs on electrical equipment.Develop SOW for major overhauls or TA.Develop SOW for a centralized PM service contract for critical electrical equipment such as UPS, Motors, transformers, rectifiers, etc.Expertise in electrical safety, hazardous area classification, protection systems, motors, AC / DC systems, power system analysis, electrical studies, and industry standards.PEOPLE MANAGEMENT :
Will manage the contractors that provide electrical maintenance services.
SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS :
Demonstrated safe work skills.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in field installation, maintenance, start‑up, commissioning, and testing of industrial electrical systems in the oil and gas industry.Knowledgeable and experienced working with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LV / HV switchgear, transformers, motors, UPS, rectifiers and electrical protections.Be able to conduct failure analysis and provide recommendations for failed electrical equipment.Process knowledge relating to Hydrogen / Ammonia / ASU plant operations is a plus.Ability to work collaboratively with plant operators, process control engineers, production engineers, plant process engineers and plant management.Able to conduct health and condition assessment on critical assets such as switchgear, motors, transformers and DC systems.Desire to identify, develop and implement performance improvements for our plants.Ability to work independently and complete tasks as scheduled is required.Experience of mentoring / coaching less experienced Maintenance Supervisors, Planners and Electrical technicians.Familiarity with the industry codes and standards.Flexible attitude, with good written and verbal communication skills.Able to effectively work and communicate within a multi‑cultural environment.Knowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.Experience in electrical equipment preservation.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
