Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares, cooks, and serves food to the client in accordance with the contractual Menu, Food preparation procedures, and standards.
  • Ensures that the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are practiced within the section.
  • Ensures that all food produced / served is of the quality and quantity specified, and that it is ready for service at the times required.
  • Ensures that standardized recipes / procedures are adhered to in the production / service of all foodstuffs.
  • Ensures that all stored food is wrapped correctly, labeled, and date stamped.
  • Prepares, cooks, and serves all food items as required.
  • Serves at the dining or assigned place and replenishes dishes as required.
  • Ensures that the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
  • Works within the hygiene standards laid down.
  • Operates all equipment in a correct and safe manner and reports any defects and / or possible safety hazards identified.
  • Works various shifts as required in any department of the kitchen.
  • Undertakes any other duties not identified in this description as requested by the Head Cook, the supervisor, or the manager.
