The Ambulance Driver is the junior member of a two-person ambulance crew and supports the doctor or nurse medic. An Ambulance Driver is typically one of the first to arrive at the scene of an emergency. Driving and staffing ambulances and other emergency vehicles. Taking direction from the medical team involved in an emergency response. Conducting daily and shift vehicle audits. Keeping an accurate record in the ambulance log book. Keeping the vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition. Responding to emergency calls. Assisting the medic on-scene at their direction. Transporting patients to hospital. Communicating effectively with patients and their relatives / friends. Maintaining a clean driving license with no traffic violations. Safely and efficiently driving an ambulance to transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, emergency scenes, and other destinations as required. Maintaining a clean and well-organized ambulance, ensuring that all medical equipment and supplies are properly secured and readily accessible.
