Job description

Overview

We are looking for experienced Substation Design Engineers across Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical (Primary & Secondary) domains to work on international projects in UAE and KSA. The role involves Pre-Bid Design, Detailed Engineering, BOQ preparation, compliance with international standards, and providing technical support during project execution and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-bid study of tender documents & BOQ preparation
  • Structural & foundation design for substation equipment, gantry & retaining structures
  • Review of soil investigation reports & geotechnical discussions
  • Preparation / review of civil drawings (buildings, cable trenches, GIS structures)
  • On-site technical support & coordination

Electrical – Primary Design Responsibilities

  • Design & engineering of HV / EHV GIS & AIS substations (up to 380kV – Gulf experience preferred)
  • Preparation of GA layouts, SLDs, earthing layouts, busbar calculations, and BOQ
  • Clearance studies & compliance with IEC / IEEE / IS standards
  • Coordination with secondary, civil, and protection teams

    • Electrical – Secondary Design Responsibilities

  • Control, protection & automation engineering for HV substations
  • Preparation of SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA & communication block diagrams
  • Compliance with IEC / IEEE / IS standards & support during FAT / SAT & commissioning
  • Design of support structures, HVAC, fire detection & suppression systems, oil handling, GIS piping, cable trays & earthing strips
  • Compliance with IS, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, IEC standards
  • Review of vendor drawings, layouts & construction drawings
  • On-site technical support for erection & commissioning

    • What We’re Looking For

    Strong expertise in Substation Design (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical – Primary & Secondary)

    Hands-on experience with international standards & Gulf projects

    Excellent technical knowledge with ability to coordinate across disciplines

    Willingness to work on large-scale projects in UAE & KSA
