• About this opportunity

We are looking for a Solution Architect (Heuristics, DPI & SACC) to lead the architecture, development, and modernization of heuristic-driven and policy-based network intelligence solutions for service classification within Packet Core domains. This role focuses on designing end-to-end Heuristics and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) frameworks, enabling accurate service identification, QoS optimization, and traffic monetization for our telecom partners.

You will work closely with engineering, R&D, and customer operations teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions that enhance Ericsson’s adaptive, data-driven network intelligence capabilities.

• What you will do

Lead the design and delivery of heuristic-based and DPI solutions for 4G / 5G Packet Core, including PGW, PCC, PCG, and CUPs.

Create and maintain high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) designs for heuristic and DPI use cases.

Develop and refine heuristic protocol signatures for application and service identification.

Integrate solutions across IN, PCRF, and EPG systems to ensure real-time service delivery.

Implement QoS, SPI, and Header Enrichment features to enable service differentiation and charging optimization.

Collaborate with R&D and business units to transform operator requirements into deployable solutions.

Troubleshoot complex network traces to identify data misclassification and prevent fraud.

Drive modernization of heuristic and policy engines, advancing from static to ML-assisted models.

Validate solution performance through KPI tracking, SLA compliance, and operational benchmarks.

Act as a customer-facing technical lead for Proof of Concept (PoC) and live deployments.

Mentor technical teams to ensure ongoing service optimization and delivery excellence.

• The skills you bring

12+ years of experience in Telecom Core Network architecture with expertise in EPC, 5G Core, PCRF, DPI, and SACC.

Proven experience delivering large-scale heuristic or service identification projects for telecom operators.

Deep understanding of interfaces such as Gx, Gy, Ny, and Nchf and their relevance to policy, charging, and enforcement.

Strong hands-on experience with Ericsson Packet Core (EPG2 / 3, PCC, PCG, CUPs) and QoS frameworks.

Skilled in traffic classification, heuristic signature tuning, and DPI optimization.

Experience in project planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business goals into architecture roadmaps.
