Responsibilities
- Set up workshop and implement system for physical and stock control, asset movement monitoring, and organized procurement
- Assist in running the facility, production lines, machines, and manpower, delivering the final product based on company procedures and workflow flow
- Ensure raw material is available at workshop based on minimum stock quantity and commercial project plan, considering sales forecast to secure raw material
- Prepare and manage the production plan through digital production on ERP
- Create yearly or quarterly budget for running the workshop
- Maintain weekly / monthly reports for the workshop through digital production on ERP
- Resolve all technical issues of all production lines at workshop : production lines are Polyurethane, mechanical production, electronics and Assembly
- Each production line must have its conveyor system, plan, input and output, workshop manager to ensure conveyor system is implemented to run every production line
- Prepare BOM based on mechanical / electronics design
- Procure all needed material for production line
- Ensure all shipment for production, raw material for production lines or final product going out from workshop to client is planned, execution will be done by supply chain team but production engineer is main responsible person to ensure no miss and all activities are planned under his direct control and responsibilities
- Follow up with supply chain personnel to ensure workshop store has all type raw material required for production line
- Implement two main plans at the workshop : production and improvement plans
- Report all technical and workshop running tasks to the Sr. Production Manager or Production director
- Approve material request / service request on ERP to ensure production buy / outsource material needed and secure store for minimum stock, avoid non-moving items
- Optimize utilization of resources available for the workshop in terms of machinery, manpower, utilities, consumables etc. for the various jobs being conducted
- Coordinate workshop activities to complete jobs within allocated time frame, quality parameters, class requirements and budgeted cost
- Develop and implement procedures for requisition of bill of materials and other resources from stores and purchase department and liaise with sub‑contractors to get material and ensure their payments are made on time
- Manage budgets for purchase of materials, fixings, fastenings and machine tools to ensure smooth progression of projects through the workshop
- Develop and implement a system to ensure regular maintenance service for machinery and breakdown related activities
- Complete and submit all required documentation to support workshop activities including damage reports, repair procedures, quality tests and results, completion reports, additional work reports etc.
- Keep daily attendance and sickness records alongside individual records of work carried out and on which projects for project costing and traceability
- Maintain a database of everything purchased, work done and by whom for traceability
- Ensure quality of work carried out and perform incoming and outgoing inspection on all parts and assemblies or delegate the work
- Maintain safe working practices, keep COSHH information up to date and ensure everyone is conversant with it in a potentially dangerous environment
- Keep all procedures and work instructions up to date
- Protect company asset and resources, manpower, building, machine, vehicles
- Monitor departmental KPI’s
- Manage manpower of production line, workshop manager responsible for team performance and productivity on monthly basis
- Ensure all work orders are managed correctly
- Work closely with quality department to deal with any NCR’s
- Run daily meetings, along with weekly briefings, to ensure teams are focused
- Accountable for safety of workshop personnel and provision of a safe workplace, including production of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
- Implement 5S and other HSEQ standards within the workshop
- Conduct final check for all tools and spares before release to project site and ensure all checklists are signed properly
- Assure administrative work on workshop rent, utilities management, part‑time hiring of lifting equipment, vehicles, manpower support
- Authority to take disciplinary actions on parties not following the process, especially when impacting asset value, tool quality, safety, reporting
- Ensure tools and spare parts are stored in proper condition and suitable environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology, Mechatronics or Mechanical engineering Background OR Production EngineerMinimum of 5 years’ experience as Assistant workshop manager / Asst.
