VMC Machine Operator

The general role for the Milling Operator (VMC Machine Operator) is to measure each large and small component to ensure they will fit together properly in the final design as well as to identify potential problems by understanding machine specifications and drawings before the production process.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

• Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Capable of programming and operating with three-axis machines (X, Y, Z).
• Make programs using MasterCAM or any other software.
• Capable of operating Fanuc & Siemens controls.
• Required sufficient knowledge of VMC Machines (3-axis & 4-Axis).
• Able to troubleshoot VMC machines for daily minor issues.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
• Measure each large and small component to ensure they will fit together properly in the final design.
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
• Identify potential problems by understanding machine specifications and drawings before the production process.
• Manufacture metal components and assemble them to construct tools, industrial machinery, and machine components.
• Able to maintain safe operation of the machines without any damage.
• Take accurate measurements.
