Overall Role Purpose
Provide strategic & operational HR expertise that contribute to achieving the business goals and DHL’s bottom line of Employer of Choice through :
- Participation as a key member of the Senior Management Team influencing the plans direction of the business and people strategy.
- Propose & implement initiatives that drive and reinforce DHL’s culture.
- Design, development and execution of organizational effectiveness and development programs.
- Design and manage HR policies and best in class HR practices that strengthen DHL’s competitive position in the market.
Your Tasks
Participate as a key partner of the Leadership Team in influencing the business plans & direction of the CompanyDefine Country HR strategy for employees in line with business priorities & goalsDevelop HR strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues, contributing information, analysis and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and directionAct as a change expert & partner with the SMT to support the implementation of initiatives. Introduce, lead and influence change management initiativesPlan and formulate various short to medium term people strategies and policies which will enable DHL to attract and retain the right calibre of employeesDefine & design an organizational development framework that enhances the company’s talent management, leadership, and functional performanceProvides organisational development expertise to diagnose issues, identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies to improve leadership and / or team performanceReview organizational structure to address performance or productivity issues and prepare recommendations aligned to meet the business requirements most efficientlyAct as a coach / mentor for all managers, helping them develop their people and management skillsImplement effective strategies for developing the organizational culture in relation to the vision and valuesTogether with the Country Managing Director and respective functional managers, define development needs and skills needed to reach business targets, and create and deliver innovative and relevant learning interventionsEnsure that the Company’s annual training program meets the business needs in line with the strategic direction set. This will include identifying training needs, initiating and developing customised courses and development plans that will enhance the effectiveness of employees’ business knowledge and technical skillsAdvise influence & support managers in defining and implementing plans related to Talent ManagementEnsure availability of effective HRD programs, employee development systems including development models and career development processes in support of Global standards and as per global initiativesEducates business line leaders on all aspects of the performance management process and the toolsIdentifies opportunities to support the functions in achieving their performance targetsWorks with functional heads and the Regional HRD team to ensure effective talent management processes are in placeEnsure that the compensation & benefits strategy is designed to attract, retain and motivate high performing employees. Manage annual salary review process to ensure DHL is competitive in the marketplace and that personnel costs meet budget while still rewarding high performersEnsure that the Company’s total compensation and benefits packages are competitive with the market. This will include planning and implementation of various benefits program from time to time to position DHL competitivelyEnsure that recognition and incentive programmes are effectively promoted and are effective in recognising high performers and rewarding achievement of key objectivesAdvise Country Management on all HR related matters & provide HR consultancy & services.Implement and monitor HR policies, standards and processes ensuring HR best practices and alignment to Global HR guidelines and the Country labour lawsTo study labour market and wage trends, various relevant Government labour legislation from time to time and ensure DHL awareness and compliance with the law. This will also include ensuring that DHL keep abreast of various development and interpreting implications of the legislation that may affect the CompanyEnsure effective resource planning and forecasting of workforce requirementsEnsure that all DHL recruitment is managed to ensure that the best possible staff are hired / promoted, including using Regional Guidelines and monitoring developments in recruitment methodology to ensure best practice recruitment methods are usedUse the EOS feedback to measure staff morale and organizational climate; then develop, implement effective strategies, and action plans to improve target areas determined.Support the Functional Managers to enhance Employee Engagement & Active Leadership for their teamsCreates innovative employee engagement solutions / activities and leads the development and implementationDrives the company culture & values through continuous Employee Engagement initiatives.Determine organization structure, roles and responsibility and performance targets for the functionDevelop a culture of quality, service excellence, flexibility, and efficiencyCoach, develop and provide leadership to the HR team to ensure they maximize their potential, achieve key business objectives and act as role models for the Company vision and valuesIdentify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional departmentYour Profile
Knowledge of HR strategy and formulation, Leadership models and concepts, General business and financial managementBe able to formulate HR strategies, influence management and get plans approved & supported, make decisions through effective presentation of the business case, manage and lead change initiatives, consult, facilitate, and coachSystematically assess effectiveness of initiatives, build individual and team development plansCompetencies : Ability to understand and use business principles and language – including the fundamentals of finance and profitability – to achieve results and increase performanceStaying abreast of important trends; understand connections beyond responsibilities that affect competitivenessDevelop and communicate strategies and goals to achieve competitive advantage; understand SWOTDevelop high-performance teams; coach and develop others; strong people managementExcellent communication skills; engage, influence, motivate, and deliver through othersEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employeesDemonstrates drive and resilience; team player with motivationAt least 8-10 years of HR experience; fluency in Arabic & English; prior team management experience essentialHR / Business Administration / Management bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Specialist HR qualification; Professional HR affiliationsOur Offer
