Overview

EXP Arabia is seeking a versatile, experienced, and reliable Senior Structural Engineer with proficiency in design and coordination for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures. The role includes producing working Revit drawings / models, running finite element analysis, and leading structural design activities in projects in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in the design of steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures.
  • Proficient in producing working Revit drawings / models and running finite element analysis.
  • Prepare load calculations and design reports following direct project input.
  • Prepare structural specifications to reflect project requirements as required.
  • Meet with vendors to understand specification requirements for different applications.
  • Participates in field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects.
  • Initiate coordination of space and utility requirements with other disciplines (PL, MX, Arch, Elec, etc.).
  • Maintain the discipline Engineering Calcs and concept direction for the project.
  • Initiate structural calculation and report templates as needed.
  • Lead project Construction Administration / Supervision for the structural discipline when required.
  • Exposure and general awareness of risk management procedures to minimize EXP and client’s exposure.
  • Exposure to work planning and tailoring design process to the available hours in work plan for a project.
  • Understand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents – and deliver appropriate documentation.
  • Work with PC, PM, and Clients to meet scheduled project milestones.
  • Manage and deliver drawings and revisions for various milestones.
  • Understand existing EXP details relevant to projects and apply them.
  • Ability to comprehend drawings of other disciplines (MX, PL, Arch, Elec, Civil, etc.).
  • Apply EXP standards and practices (training materials, OneNote, etc.) to each project.
  • Market Sector – understand differences in design requirements or approaches between sectors.
  • Attend project sites and construction meetings and provide technical input.
  • Contribute positively to EXP and local office culture.
  • Proficient in producing working CAD drawings and models.
  • Proficient and well versed with the Saudi Building Code.

Background and Qualifications

  • 9-12 minimum years of experience in structural design and engineering in Saudi Arabia.
  • Degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Active member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
  • Proficient in CAD software, REVIT, and other BIM-related aspects.
  • Proficient and well versed with the Saudi Building Code.

  • Professional presentation external and internal to the office (attire, engagement, meeting prep, etc.).
  • Demonstrates presentation skills through internal and external technical presentations and white papers.
  • Leads participation in voluntary training opportunities such as vendor lunch and learns.
  • Positively contributes to EXP and local office culture.
