Responsibilities
1. Performs short routine EEG recordings.
2. Conducts long-term video EEG monitoring.
3. Performs bedside EEG recordings.
4. Carries out Nerve Conduction Test.
5. Conducts evoked potential testing, visual and Somatosensory.
6. Assists Neurology Doctor’s to perform EMG advanced NCV and VEP.
7. Types and fills reports of each patient.
8. Arranges appointment for PSG, PAP Titration, EEG, EMG-NCV and VEP.
9. Performs routine equipment’s care, maintenance and inventory evaluation in collaboration with biomedical.
10. Reports safety or operational concerns to chairperson of Neurosciences.
11. Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures if applicable.
12. Performs all procedures in a timely and professional manner.
Job Requirements
Skills and Abilities
Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word. Mandatory typing skills of 20 words per minute or higher.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years as Neurophysiology Technician or EEG / NCV / EP technician with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
For Senior Neurophysiology Technician : Minimum of 5 years as Neurophysiology Technician or EEG / NCV / EP technician with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
Education
Completion of neuro physiology procedures training in the hospital or preemployment training session from accredited facility.
Language
English and Arabic preferred.
Licenses / Certifications
License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. SCFHS / DHA.
