This role reports to the Global Category Manager and / or Categories Team Leader depending on geographic location. Responsibilities
Support one or several procurement categories as Category Manager (CM). Collaborate with Global Category Managers (GCM), the Categories Team Leader (CTL) and Tactical Buyer (TB). Align actions with the strategy defined by the GCM and maintain a regular feedback loop. Manage RFIs / RFPs up to PVet 4 (and PVet 5 in some regions) for business critical work packages to provide competitiveness. Contribute to strategy development and ensure measurable savings targets are identified and delivered by category. Monitor markets, suppliers, and regulatory changes to support updated category strategies. Support Make / Buy decisions in cooperation with PPM and cross-functional teams to optimise performance. Governance and performance management including KPI tracking and root cause corrective actions. Oversee supplier acquisition management and contract negotiations in line with category strategies; ensure use of global contracts / framework agreements and compliance with legal requirements. Ensure procurement tools (e-Acquisition) are used according to governance and that risk, opportunities, and supply chain mapping are managed. Provide information to Tactical Buyers to raise Procurement Orders and support delivery of complex solutions. Qualifications & Experience
7+ years of experience in Procurement, with experience interacting with senior management and stakeholders in complex projects. Experience in product policy, design / product development with cross-functional teams in a procurement bids and project role. Experience in subcontract management and delivering complex solutions; ability to define and implement category strategy. Strong involvement in defining / updating strategy with the GCM and implementing strategy operationally. Technical Skills
Proven ability to lead category strategy and manage suppliers using Thales tools. Strong contractual knowledge, especially of framework agreements, liability and insurance. Ability to lead complex negotiations, including import / export considerations. Understanding of market dynamics for the category and customer needs; ability to model value and competitive advantage. Experience with value-added procurement analytics (e.g., should-cost) and risk / opportunity management in the supply base. Experience managing complex sub-contracts and identifying purchasing levers. Knowledge of best practice acquisition processes. Soft Skills
