Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the quality management system, including maintaining ISO 9001 certification, managing the laboratory, Application Development Lab and ensuring product quality from raw materials to finished goods. This involves leading a team of quality control and lab personnel, collaborating with other departments, and reporting directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and control the company's ISO 9001 certified QMS, including the quality manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, and documents.
- Lead internal audits, report findings to management, and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize and report the outcomes of management review meetings.
- Coordinate data collection and analysis, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and follow up on non-conformances, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with all quality requirements related to ISO 9001.
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Supervise the calibration and maintenance of inspection and test equipment.
- Manage laboratory resources, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
- Lead and develop the Applications Development Lab.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.
- Oversee inspection, verification, and quality control of manufactured products and raw materials.
- Halt production if product quality fails specifications or machines are out of specification, and initiate corrective / preventive actions in collaboration with the relevant teams.
- Resolve quality-related work problems and recommend measures to improve product quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality control and laboratory personnel.
- Establish work priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Train or oversee the training of employees in quality control, policies, procedures, and new methods or operating procedures.
- Collaborate with other department heads / managers to plan and implement company goals, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in product planning and development to establish the best correlation between product attributes and customer demands.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and other stakeholders.
- Prepare technical presentations, seminars, and training materials.
- Report regularly to the General Manager on quality performance, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred.10 years of experience in quality management and laboratory operations, including experience with ISO 9001.Strong knowledge of chemistry, chemical safety, protection, and management, including EHS management systems, chemical and waste labeling, and disposal.Experience with standard laboratory equipment; experience with Paint / Paint additives is a requirement.Advanced organizational, planning, and analytical skills.Proficiency with applicable software systems.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.Fluency in English and Arabic.
