Job Description Summary
The GSI Project Director will be responsible for project delivery profit & loss accountability and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Responsible for departmental operations planning / or is focused on of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality volume timeliness profitability Ethics GE Vernova values etc..
In line with the Saudization requirements preference will be given to qualified Saudi nationals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The position holder directly reports to the Operations Leader of Saudi Sub region and / or to the Region Operations Leader.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless of projects (Turnkeys Substations Extensions retrofit and maintenance) in Saudi.
- Lead technical contractual and financial management of constructions projects including Engineering CW manufacturing Delivery Erection and commissioning.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered ontime within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Manage changes to the project scope project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties / vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members individual strengths skill sets and experience levels
- Track project performance specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and longterm goals
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
- Use and continually develop leadership skills
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Develop spreadsheets diagrams and process maps to document needs
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of project reviews (starting with budget zero review) with other involved PLs( if applicable)
- Ensure endtoend project life cycle from kickoff to closure including billing cash collection & management of bonds
- Ensure project monitoring cycle regarding Progress and Projects Review
- Control the of action plans issued from project reviews with focus on anticipation of events risks identification and management cash position
Support with main tenders

Electrical Engineering Bachelor degree or relevant educational backgroundAt least 10 years experience in project project management role with Transmission & Distribution Engineering backgroundProficiency in English and Arabic are mandatoryPeople management experience in a similar fieldMinimum 7 years working experience as a T&D Project Director or Project Director in Saudi with a focus on turnkey substationsWell experienced on Turnkey VHV / HV / MV substations engineering and construction backgroundNo obstacle to travel in and out of Saudi depending on the projectsDesired Characteristics
