Role Overview :
Dar is seeking a Traffic Management & Detour Engineer to lead safe, compliant, and efficient traffic schemes for major road and bridge projects.
Responsibilities :
Traffic Management & Detour Planning
Prepare and review Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and detour designs in coordination with design and construction teams.
Ensure compliance with MOT / RCRC traffic standards, Saudi Building Codes, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with stakeholders (traffic police, municipalities, utilities, and client representatives) for approvals of detours and closures.
Safety & Compliance
Apply international and local best practices for road safety in work zones.
Monitor site implementation of traffic diversions, signage, barriers, and lighting.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
Supervision & Monitoring
Supervise the contractor’s traffic management and detour works on site.
Inspect traffic arrangements, ensuring they are properly executed and maintained.
Ensure continuous accessibility for emergency services, residents, and businesses.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders on traffic diversions and road closures.
Provide technical advice and solutions for unexpected traffic issues.
Support project scheduling to minimize disruption.
Documentation & Reporting
Review and approve contractor’s detour drawings and method statements.
Maintain records of traffic management activities and incidents.
Prepare progress reports and highlight non-compliance or safety concerns.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Transportation Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 15 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of Saudi MOT / RCRC traffic regulations, work zone safety standards, and international best practices.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with authorities and stakeholders.
