The Senior Manager, Costing & Performance is responsible for leading the costing and performance analysis functions within the organization. This role involves the development and management of cost control processes, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks to ensure operational efficiency and financial accuracy. The Senior Manager will collaborate with multiple departments to streamline cost management practices, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and maintenance of cost accounting systems, ensuring the accurate tracking of production costs and financial performance.
- Lead performance measurement initiatives by defining KPIs, analysing trends, and providing actionable insights to optimize operational efficiency.
- Implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives across the organization, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Manage the preparation and analysis of cost variance reports, providing detailed explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support strategic planning and budgeting processes by providing accurate cost data and performance forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures related to costing and financial performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, and finance, to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
- Lead the development of financial models to support investment decisions and assess business performance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in costing and performance reporting processes, implementing best practices to enhance financial transparency.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the costing and performance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Qualification and Education
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.Master’s degree is preferred.Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Extensive experience in costing, financial analysis, and performance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Skills
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial modelling tools.Professional Certifications
Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is preferred.
