Fields of Work :

As Creative Director, you will lead innovation across a range of cultural formats, including :

  • Museum activation and operations (including interpretive content, exhibition design, and visitor journey development)
  • Cultural events and live experiences (festivals, performances, educational activations)
  • Cultural sites and heritage destinations (experience planning, interpretation, immersive storytelling)
  • Experience centers (conceptualization, creative direction, content and spatial design, and operational strategy)

Role Summary :

The Creative Director will be responsible for leading holistic creative development , from early concept ideation through spatial and graphic design to final delivery. This role will ensure all experiences reflect a high standard of creativity, cultural sensitivity, and strategic relevance across Knowliom's multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Experience Development (Concept to Content) :

  • Lead creative concept development across all projects, ensuring alignment with client vision, cultural narratives, and audience needs.
  • Oversee the development of experience journeys , narrative frameworks, and thematic storylines for exhibitions, events, and activations.
  • Collaborate with content developers, curators, and writers to shape compelling interpretive strategies.
  • Drive emotional storytelling that integrates seamlessly into spatial, digital, and physical formats.
  • Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and engagement strategies are embedded within the experience planning.
  • 2. Graphic Design & Interpretation :

  • Direct the visual language across projects, ensuring brand consistency and narrative clarity.
  • Guide the design and production of interpretive graphics , signage systems, digital interfaces, and print material.
  • Supervise graphic teams to ensure visuals complement and enhance the storytelling and visitor engagement.
  • Integrate multi-sensory elements like motion, typography, illustration, and infographics.
  • 3. Exhibition & Spatial Design :

  • Lead the creative vision for spatial storytelling , including layout planning, spatial flow, and visitor orientation.
  • Oversee interior design elements such as furniture selection, lighting direction, and material finishes in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Ensure spatial designs are adaptable to fabrication, operational, and accessibility constraints.
  • Collaborate with technical designers and architects to translate creative vision into buildable, functional environments.
  • 4. Interdisciplinary Creative Leadership :

  • Build and mentor creative teams across disciplines—graphic, spatial, content, and media.
  • Facilitate creative workshops, visioning sessions, and brainstorming meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary creative representative in client-facing meetings, pitches, and presentations.
  • Maintain oversight of deliverables across project stages to ensure aesthetic integrity and on-brand execution.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Exhibition Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in creative leadership roles within museum, cultural, experiential, or media sectors.
  • Portfolio demonstrating concept development, graphic design, spatial / exhibition design, and interdisciplinary integration.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills—verbal, visual, and written.
  • Experience working on projects rooted in Saudi or GCC cultural contexts , with a strong appreciation for regional narratives and audiences
  • Proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp, or similar.
  • Experience working with government / cultural clients or large-scale public sector projects.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is a plus, but not mandatory
