  • The Head of Solution Development is responsible for leading the development of innovative and high-quality software solutions that meet the business needs of the organization. This role involves overseeing multiple development teams, ensuring alignment with agile methodologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Key Accountabilities

    Description

    • Define the overall Technology development strategy, aligning it with the company’s business objectives and market demands.
    • Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends in fintech and customer needs, proposing cutting-edge technologies and solutions that enhance the company’s competitive advantage.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and product designs.
    • Leadership and Management :

    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing solution development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
    • Lead and manage the Solution Development, including the System of Engagement Development Team, Business Hub Development Team, and System of Record Development Team.
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive innovation and efficiency in software development.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the department.
    • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and career development plans for team members, ensuring continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Encourage knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in fintech and software development.
    • Software Development, Technical Architecture & Best Practices :

    • Oversee the development of customer-facing applications, business-critical applications, and core backend systems.
    • Ensure that all software solutions are scalable, secure, advanced, updated and aligned with business requirements.
    • Promote the use of best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
    • Oversee the development and management of the company’s technical architecture, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and capable of supporting the fintech solutions.
    • Ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural principles, and security best practices to deliver resilient and high-quality fintech products.
    • Evaluate and implement appropriate technology stacks, frameworks, and tools to support rapid product development and scalability.
    • Agile Methodology :

    • Champion agile methodologies and practices within the department.
    • Collaborate with Scrum master’s and Product Owners to ensure effective sprint planning, execution, and review.
    • Continuously improve agile processes to enhance team productivity and project outcomes.
    • Collaboration and Communication :

    • Work closely with other IT departments, including Solutions Architecture & Innovation and Delivery & Quality Assurance, to ensure cohesive project delivery.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve project challenges and ensure successful outcomes.
    • Performance Monitoring and Reporting :

    • Monitor and report on the performance of the Solution Development.
    • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure development efficiency and quality.
    • Provide regular reports to the CIO and other senior management on department performance.
    • Vendor and Partner Management :

    • Evaluate and manage third-party technology vendors, ensuring that solutions are aligned with business needs and technical requirements.
    • Work with external partners and vendors to integrate third-party services, APIs, and technologies into the company’s fintech solutions where needed.
    • Quality Assurance & Performance Monitoring :

    • Ensure all solutions undergo rigorous testing and quality assurance processes, meeting the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability.
    • Implement performance monitoring and optimization techniques to ensure solutions perform efficiently under real-world conditions.
    • Customer Experience & Feedback Integration :

    • Ensure that Internal customers feedback is effectively integrated into the solution development process to continuously enhance the development efficiencies.
    • Drive technology-focused design principles, ensuring that technologies are efficient, reliable, and aligned with company demands and market needs.
    • QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education : Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related fields; additional qualifications in fintech or financial services technology are a plus.
    • Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in software / solution development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the fintech or financial services sector.
    • Strong experience with modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Deep knowledge of financial technologies, digital payments, blockchain, data analytics, API integrations, and compliance standards (e.g., PSD2, GDPR).
    • Experience in developing user-centric fintech products, ensuring security, compliance, and scalability in high-growth environments.
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
    • EXPERIENCE

      10-14 years of experience
