Underground Cable (UG) Design Engineer
We are seeking a qualified and experienced engineer to support the design and execution of high‑voltage substation and underground cable projects up to 380 kV. The ideal candidate will contribute to all project stages—from tender evaluation to detailed design and implementation—ensuring safe, reliable, and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Prepare and review the Scope of Work and layout drawings for substations (S / S) up to 380 kV and UG cable circuits.
- Evaluate technical offers during the tendering phase.
- Review technical data sheets, factory test reports, and method statements during base design and execution.
- Verify cable selection and sizing calculations, route drawings, schematic diagrams, network diagrams, and related engineering studies (induced voltage, ampacity, sheath current).
- Review cable sleeves, openings, and duct bank layouts for LV, MV, HV, and EHV systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, manufacturers, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Provide cost‑effective, technically sound solutions to design and execution challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- Proven experience in underground cable design and substation interface projects.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and engineering software tools for UG systems.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
