The opportunity involves the scope of work for a GIS Supervisor who covers all activities required to enable switching systems to be installed, repaired and any faults eliminated. The Supervisor is responsible for installation of high voltage systems worldwide for PGHV and represents PG in dealings with the client at the installation site. Deadlines for each project are to be adhered to, with cost-performance considered. The role embodies the PG QA philosophy and takes into account the special conditions on construction sites.

How you’ll make an impact

• The GIS-Supervisor is responsible for the installation & commissioning work entrusted to him being carried out in technically sound order.
• He carries out installation and maintenance work independently.
• He is responsible for ensuring compliance with installation requirements and instructions and that necessary accident prevention measures are observed, specifically guidelines for work on live system components.
• Shall be responsible to red-mark drawings / documents with any changes or modifications that become necessary during the installation.
• Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the workforce necessary to comply with the schedule.
• Cooperate with the PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage and coordinate material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers' Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with the PG Project Manager.
• Supervise final installation & commissioning tests and PG installation completion documentation.
• Supervise and coordinate loop check activities and participate in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Ensure competent execution of tasks.
• Carry out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfil the job requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
