MANUFACTURING OPERATOR
The Manufacturing Operator, aligned to the Fabrication area, is responsible for performing manufacturing processes in any combination of required tasks associated with the safe and efficient operation of the production line as it relates to producing water elements (membrane). Manufacturing Operator will be involved in multiple different phases of the production and will perform tasks as specified in written procedures to support the full production process; manufacturing / rolling, finishing, testing / packaging, and handling of materials. Manufacturing Operators are self-starters who can identify, prioritize, and simultaneously accomplish multiple tasks using time management. Manufacturing Operator must have strong attention to detail, and strong communication to demonstrate leadership – inspire others and lead them through influence. Manufacturing Operator must also be able to work within an empowered team environment, and in addition to the primary tasks, the Manufacturing Operator will need to fix or adjust the machines with hand tools as needed.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required
2 years of manufacturing or related experience required
Ability to read, write and speak English is required.
Responsibilities :
Maintain a safe working environment and participate in all required safety programs, trainings, and activities
Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas
Operate and field check process equipment by monitoring process conditions, equipment, and control systems if necessary
Reads production schedule to determine set up product to be produced during the current days production run
Responsible for working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to elements such as; odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, chemicals and other elements
Receive direction from area leads / supervisor and complete assigned tasks
Responsible for adhering to strict safety and environmental guidelines to include wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must be able to make decisions related to safety, quality, and operations with minimal amount of supervision.
Must be able to meet moderate physical effort as required to include :
Lifting occasionally of up to 50 pounds; bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting required on a daily basis
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand; stand and / or walk for up to 8 or 12 hours per day, walk (up and down stairs); twist; bend; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb for extended periods of time; and will require the ability to lift maneuver and carry up to 45 lbs, pull with up to 82 lbs force and push with up to 50 lbs force.
Assure completion of day to day operating tasks to achieve production results for assigned work group
Accountable for maximized productivity and yield in assigned shift and cell for the overall business success
Responsible to lead start of shift data review and complete a successfully exchange or hand-off with previous shift
Lead or delegate housekeeping efforts per department expectations
Monitor, troubleshoot and adjust equipment based on work process data within known boundaries.
Perform routine and non-routine complex maintenance on equipment (refer complex mechanical problems to a Maintenance Technician). Act as a final Gate troubleshooter prior to escalating need to the Tech Advisor or Maintenance group
Capabilities Required for this Role (Knowledge Skills & Abilities)
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and can learn new systems quickly is preferred
Fork Lift; power materials handling equipment operation experience / certification is preferred
Able to read and navigate Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) panels
Must be willing to adhere to all safety standards, and exhibit a strong commitment to safety for themselves and for others
Good interpersonal skills are required
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves (nitrile), face shield, safety glasses, shield, ear plugs, safety shoes, Tyvek sleeve, plastic apron, and respirator for the working shift.
