Job description
  • Manage and oversee all accounting activities related to construction contracts, including billing, cost tracking, and revenue recognition.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze contract budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers and site teams to monitor project costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to clients and follow up on outstanding payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Review and process subcontractor invoices, ensuring alignment with contract terms and project milestones.
  • Maintain detailed records of all contract modifications, change orders, and related financial documentation.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries related to contract accounting.
  • Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to review contract terms and ensure financial compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and reconciliations related to contract accounts.
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in contract management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years and maximum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction or contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting for construction projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
