Responsible for specifying and commissioning new analyzers for efficiency improvement projects and obsolescence mitigation. This will be done through leading small capital / expense projects and providing technical support for larger capital / expense projects in multiple operating units. Additionally, this position will serve as a subject‑matter expert for analyzer O&M teams to rely on for support as needed.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for efforts to maintain equipment availability at highest operating level feasible including the research / communication of new technologies, and maintenance practices
- Apply appropriate reliability tools (i.e., Worst Actor Program, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc.) to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve asset availability
- Responsible for the development of Critical Equipment list and Critical Spares Inventory recommendations, monitoring and optimizing the stores system for future site‑wide needs
- Participates in incident investigations to discover root cause of problems and implements corrective actions to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future
- Responsible for effectiveness of analytical techniques for detecting and diagnosing problems in Analyzer equipment
- Ensures all Analyzer equipment has an accurate criticality defined
- Develops and maintains history and performance to reveal bad & worst actors, communicates findings and implements resolutions on time
- Supports the life cycle effort for Analyzers
- Participates and provides advice in developing plans for major shutdowns, construction, or alteration projects
- Responsible for discipline engineering and design for capital and expense projects adhering to sound life cycle management principles, site engineering standards, and industry best practices
- Provides project management support for small capital and expense projects with analyzers as majority of scope
- Supports the execution of plant MOC (Management of change), including updated document review and project closeout
- Executes Quality Assurance, Quality Control activities (FAT, SAT, Loop sells, etc.)
- Prepares technical reports and studies as directed by manager
- Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high‑quality products / services and a responsible environmental attitude
- Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities
- Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area assigned
- Performs any other relevant task as directed by Lead Engineer Instrument
