As a
Controls & Electrical Supervisor
at Vanderlande, you will oversee electrical equipment installations and controls commissioning activities for small project sites. You will lead a team with safety and quality as priorities, maintain a strong on-site presence to ensure project success, handle pre-commissioning, integration coordination, and testing support, and facilitate smooth site handovers. You will also play a pivotal role in training technicians and maintaining essential project documentation to contribute to team growth and quality project execution. Responsibilities
Installation Supervision : Organize and supervise on-site electrical activities including installation, testing & commissioning of electrical components such as power distribution, control panels, and wiring for Vanderlande material handling projects in line with the project schedule and agreed sequence. Contribute to creating electrical installation schedules and review electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and electrical codes. Controls Activities : Install PLC / HMI systems. Download OT software for controllers and validate correct function of safety and control cabinets. Execute and support pre-commissioning activities (I / O checks, interface tests with SCADA, field wiring tests after power-on, mechanical running test). Execute or support commissioning activities (functionality, capacity, requirements). Perform minor changes in OT programs and troubleshooting. Support integration, site testing, as-built documentation, snagging and rectification. Guidance : Delegate responsibilities and provide clear instructions to the onsite installation team of electrical technicians / subcontractors, ensuring installation work complies with quality standards and Vanderlande processes. Safety Focus : Create a safe working environment by fostering a culture of safety among installation teams throughout project execution. Organize all HSE-related activities on site. Surveying : Conduct feasibility surveys for installation areas and check readiness and facilities required for installation as part of preparation for startup installation. Quality Control : Maintain a strong onsite presence through regular site walks and thorough quality checks in alignment with Vanderlande standards. Reporting & Coordination : Monitor team progress and regularly report on work progress to the site manager. Coordinate effectively with subcontractors and stakeholders. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of electrical materials and equipment. Coordinate installation and integration of 3rd party equipment (e.g., screening machines, tag readers, weighing scales). Document all installation activities and maintain accurate records, preparing progress reports for project management. Manage change orders & RFIs and maintain redline drawings for O&M. Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve site management processes and support continuous enhancement efforts. Train new technicians to enhance skills and promote the core value of “Everyday Better” through lessons learned. Support Activities : Organize and facilitate all support activities to ensure a smooth, high-quality handover to commissioning and support commissioning / testing teams until handover to the customer. Support site logistics management by organizing unloading and related activities. Responsible for activities : Perform EM installation, field wiring tests before power-on, power-up, safety and area EM inspection, pre-commissioning (cabinet & equipment), commissioning conveyance, CST / IST. Responsible for deliverables : As-built notes, defect list, electrical static test report, field wiring test report before power-on, power-up protocol test report, cabinet test reports, I / O check reports, MRT reports. Consulted in activities : Commission conveying, commission safety span of control, creation of installation spare parts ME, site management plan, EM documentation as-built, pre-commission conveying cabinet, pre-commission safety, PLC – cabinet pre-commission safety specifics, define and detail solution stage. Desired Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in executing material handling projects in controls commissioning and / or electrical site supervision for installations. Knowledge of electromechanical components, cabinets, and field wiring. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and project / logistics schedules. Ability to understand and modify LLC code in relevant platforms (Siemens S7 Series). Knowledge of various switch gears, drives, and experience with I / O testing. Proficiency in troubleshooting electromechanical issues and resolving them proactively. Experience in executing / supporting LLC (Low Level Control) commissioning for I / O tests and mechanical run tests, including cabinet functionality. Conceptual knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens), hardware types, and communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, ASI). Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and E.Plan drawing would be advantageous. Desired Soft skills

This position may require travel to project sites as necessary for project execution and support. Candidates should be prepared to travel as part of their responsibilities; travel requirements will vary based on project needs and locations.
