Civil Inspector

Provide assistance to the Project Engineer / Construction Supervisor with prompt exchange of correspondence, submittals, NCRs, and RFIs to all relevant parties. - Serve as the site person responsible for coordinating the daily site construction works. - Monitor the progress of the site activities. - Prepare responses to the Contractors when required. - Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities. Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with Contract Documents. - Advise and assist the contractor on construction procedures. - Provide all photographs before, during, and after construction necessary to provide adequate documentation of changes at site. - Coordinate the construction work with the local authorities and contractor. - Observe the safety procedures followed by the contractor. Issue instructions as necessary to correct safety violations. - Attend progress meetings held at the site as required by the Construction Supervisor. - Review the Contractor's progress. - Identify constraints and recommend corrective measures to the Supervisor. - Assist with preparation site directions and instructions. - Assist in the final inspection and handover of the work. Relevant experience shall be in earthworks, drainage systems, and storm water works with associated pumping stations, valve chambers, and connections. This includes experience in the material and construction of different types of pipes, i.e., Ductile Iron, PVC, and HDPE pipes. Engineers with multitasking capabilities between design and construction supervision skills are preferred. Must have good knowledge of Civil Engineering theory.
