Senior Architect - Saudi Arabia - Dammam

We are currently searching for a Senior Architect to join our team in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . This position is based in Dammam . The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in a relevant industry with either a contractor or engineering consultancy. You must also hold a BA / BSc or MARCH / MA / MSc in Architecture .

The Architect role on the project will cover all areas of development and is key to ensuring that all architectural, specialist fit-out & interior aspects of the contractor’s submissions, shop drawings, and interdisciplinary coordination processes are aligned with the construction programme and specifications.

The successful candidate will report to both the Client’s Representative and the Buro Happold Project Director. They should possess excellent technical and communication skills, with a minimum of 15 years’ post-graduate construction experience , including at least 5 years in the Middle East and / or in the design and delivery of similar technical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with SAPMT and Buro Happold discipline leads to assist with planning, coordination, and execution of architectural works.
• Review contractor’s submissions, including method statements, procurement plans, technical submissions, specifications, schedules, technical queries, shop drawings, specialist designs, fabrication drawings, and technical studies.
• Assist SAPMT in monitoring contractor & specialist subcontractor progress.
• Support SAPMT and site engineering inspectors to ensure technical compliance with contract specifications, working practices, and drawings.
• Coordinate and prepare submissions for other Saudi Aramco departments involved in project supervision, such as Loss Prevention, Consultancy Services, and Quality Control.
• Attend weekly progress, quality, and coordination meetings.
• Keep senior staff informed of important service / design decisions to meet the company's and client's objectives.
• Contribute to design development reports.
• Coordinate with other disciplines within the practice.
