The EHS Engineer will be a site resource responsible for driving EH&S culture, training, Health and Safety programs, inspections and improvements associated with Health and Safety, Environmental.
This role reports directly to the EHS Manager.
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge sought below but, of equal importance, he or she will be self-motivated, possess a positive attitude, and be a creative thinker.
This is a “hands-on” position that will work across the site in a competitive atmosphere.
Working with and through all the department leaders and interfacing with cross-functional teams at regional and plant levels is crucial for success.
What You Will Do
- Monitor compliance with all applicable local legislation and codes governing EHS and corporate EHS.
- Assist the EHS Manager to develop policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulations and company guidelines.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, committee members and institutional staff to formulate corrective actions.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations including after hours and weekends on occasion.
- Play an active role in designing and delivering safety training for all levels of the team Members including Train-the-Trainer for front line supervisors.
- Ability to coach and empower supervisors and shop floor employees through effective advancing of EHS culture of principle base management.
- Support plant leadership in conducting and reviewing risk assessments for their area of responsibility and ensure adequate control measures are identified and implemented.
- Develops and implements incident investigations, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures using effective problem-solving methods such as 5D and Cause Maps.
- Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
- Monitor the standard of industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe work environment and to comply with safety standards.
- Investigates and evaluates new engineering, equipment and process changes.
- Responds and provides assistance to all emergency situations.
- Lead and continually evaluate effectiveness of the hazards reporting program
- Demonstrate on a consistent basis the PBM Guiding Principles and humility / discipline to achieve personal improvement.
- Assist with field verifications for Energy Control, Confined Space, Work at height, Hot Work, and risk assessments.
- Assist with facility inspection needs (tool checks, harness inspections, mobile equipment inspections, barricade checks, etc.)
- Sound practical and principle-based mentality to manage daily operations, projects and contractors.
- Own and manage EHS systems such as incident reporting, chemical management, hazard reporting etc.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or Engineering.Professional certification in EHS such as NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Health & Safety Management.Experience in manufacturing industriesComprehensive knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or international Environmental health and safety standards.Proficient in both English and Arabic languagesWillingness to respond to on-call duties and work outside regular hours when requiredWhat Will Put You Ahead
Experience in construction industries.Proven ability to work independently with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis capabilities.Knowledge of International, local laws and regulations such as civil defense and Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu RegulationsFamiliarity with emission control technologies and environmental compliance.Who We Are

Candidates should have a degree in Environmental Health & Safety or Engineering and professional certification in EHS.
Experience in manufacturing industries and knowledge of international EHS standards are essential.
