Overview
Parsons is looking for a senior manager to lead project controls on a large-scale program. The role involves developing, managing, and executing all phases of the project controls effort and directing a team of professionals across all aspects of project controls, applying best practices and extensive project experience. Responsibilities
Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides strategy-type recommendations on critical matters to support decision making.
Leads the establishment of the program master coding architecture, integrating all functional requirements, and develops a robust, scalable reporting system across the program.
Guides the development and implementation of project controls procedures to support best practices in schedule, cost, earned value, risk, and change management processes.
Manages a team of Project Control specialists who analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs and performance against an established schedule with critical milestones; assesses the impact of design and construction changes and schedule slippages.
Recommends and oversees the implementation and customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel.
Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development goals and opportunities for assigned employees.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
Education & Role Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
20+ years of overall related experience, including 10+ years in a similar managerial role.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
Proven strong stakeholder management skills to C-suite level.
Strong business acumen and the ability to make well-informed decisions based on data and analysis.
PMO / PMC experience is required.
What You'll Bring
Requires engineering knowledge in civil, electrical, mechanical, or a related field.
Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal / external correspondence; ability to present information to key stakeholders.
Proficient PC skills including Project Controls Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage and encourage a team of construction management professionals.
Ability to interface with all levels of project team, client, and others.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of support function problems.
