The Director – Tax, VAT & Zakat is responsible for leading the organization’s overall tax strategy, ensuring full compliance with Saudi Arabian tax and zakat regulations, managing VAT reporting, and optimizing the company’s tax and zakat efficiency. This role oversees all filings, audits, assessments, and ensures accurate financial reporting while providing strategic advisory to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Management
- Lead all corporate tax activities including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Withholding Tax (WHT), Transfer Pricing, and Excise Tax (if applicable).
- Review and submit periodic tax returns in accordance with ZATCA regulations.
- Monitor tax implications for business activities, contracts, and transactions.
VAT Oversight
Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of monthly / quarterly VAT returns.Ensure accuracy of VAT input / output calculations and compliance with ZATCA VAT laws.Implement VAT process improvements and internal controls.Conduct VAT impact assessments for new services, products, or business changes.Lead all zakat-related filings and ensure full compliance with Saudi zakat rules.Analyze financial statements and capital structure to optimize zakat liabilities.Manage zakat assessments, objections, and communications with ZATCA.Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax, VAT, and zakat regulations and ensure organizational compliance.Serve as the primary point of contact with ZATCA and external tax advisors.Prepare documentation and responses for audits, assessments, and disputes.Strategic Planning & Advisory
Develop long-term tax and zakat strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance.Provide executive management with insights on tax implications for major investments, restructures, or acquisitions.Support decision-making with financial modeling and tax scenario analysis.Oversee the preparation of accurate tax, VAT, and zakat provisions in monthly and annual financial statements.Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure proper journal entries and reconciliations.Ensure compliance with IFRS and local reporting standards.Implement robust controls over tax, VAT, and zakat processes.Identify potential risks and lead mitigation strategies.Conduct periodic internal audits and corrective action plans.Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Professional certifications preferred : CPA, SOCPA, ACCA, CTA, CMA.6–12 years experience in Tax, VAT, and Zakat in Saudi Arabia.Location : Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
